A beast in a compact form factor
Sony aims to refresh its whole line of smartphones focusing again on photography and video, and also gaming too.
This has been done by introducing a younger and smarter sibling of the majestic and expensive Xperia 1 II
Being the latter this one has several better things than its predecessor, being a bit cheaper for instance.
This shall be on sale on 29th September for about $949,
However, the other noticeable upgrade that hits different is the 120Hz higher refresh rate panel put by Sony.

Few things about it are rather odd too viz., No shipping until Dec 4th
Supports 5G, still won't work with the 5G networks in the U.S (Xperia 1 ll had the same issue)
Its rather small-sized phones than the ones coming out nowadays by other brands, it is kind of more easily pocketable than most others,
Sporting almost all of the standard Flagship specs like SD 865, a 4000 mAh battery, a 120 Hz refresh rate as earlier mentioned, Dual front-facing stereo blasters, a traditional 3.5 mm, the only thing lacking is we guess, support for wireless charging?
What do you guys say, Drop in the comments below...
A triple Camera array as it has would be enough given the Sony Camera quality,
That's not all the company claims this phone to be the first smartphone to be able to record slow-motion at 120FPS in 4K HDR.
Sony's Pro Video app lets you play around with your recorded videos helping for extreme editing options.

The Legendary Auto-focus has also been improved to keep that focus needle-sharp at 60 times in a sec, also enabling burst mode shooting at 20 FPS.
Maybe the unseen and most interesting feature in this is the feature to turn into a direct tethered upload machine for one of the mirrorless cameras by Sony, not the actual equivalent of full USB tethering on desktop but definitely faster than Wi-Fi ones.
Sony feels that this phone other than photography and recording features would also provide gaming features that are more than mere gimmicks.
With a game enhancer mode, it has some genuinely useful features.
Also, see - Apple's new gear not a medical device?
You can vary and lock the screen refresh rate directly s you wish, along with changes in motion blur and touch response speed.
And also something that I was waiting for a long time now, the power by-pass feature,
This allows you to draw power directly from the USB-C without charging the battery, Get it?
phone running on AC power. !!!
Significant reduction in heating and Sony has also provided a graphene heat sink in case, to draw heat away from the mainboard.
Overall if I say, it seems a fascinating phone to me, with unique features but some pissing drawbacks do exist.
Go for it if you're into the Sony camera systems, then its a good choice.
We'll update you with its detailed Specs later on.
Stay Tuned For More Updates !!!
